For brands

Protect what you’ve built, one unit at a time.

Your systems record what should happen to a shipment. Idanta proves what actually happened to each unit, with the labels you already print.

The cost of not knowing

Five leaks a batch code cannot stop.

Counterfeits in your channel

Fakes reach customers under your name. You cannot prove authenticity at the point of sale.

Gray market diversion

Stock meant for one channel or region shows up below MAP on a marketplace, and authorized partners lose trust.

Returns fraud

Distributors and consumers send back used or fake units for credit and refunds. Without unit identity, every return looks legitimate.

Warranty abuse

Counterfeit units are claimed under your warranty, and you absorb the cost.

Blanket recalls

Without knowing which units went where, a recall pulls everything in the batch.

Public companies flag it as a material risk

HP, Crocs, Cricut, Callaway Golf and Amer Sports name gray market sales or unauthorized resellers as risks in their SEC filings.

Anti-diversion, step by step

Same leak. Two outcomes.

Distributor A receives stock meant for retail and sells it to a marketplace reseller instead. Here is what the brand can do in each case.

Without unit identitySuspicion
  1. 1. ManufactureOne code per batch. 100,000 units may share it.
  2. 2. DistributeStock moves through C&F agents, super stockists and distributors.
  3. 3. DiversionDistributor A sells to a marketplace reseller.
  4. 4. Price collapseMonitoring tools flag sellers below MAP. Source unknown.
  5. 5. InvestigationTest buy shows a batch that shipped to many distributors.
  6. 6. ResultDistributors deny it. Enforcement fails. The leak continues.
With IdantaEvidence

  4. 4. Price collapseMonitoring tools flag sellers below MAP.
  5. 5. TraceOne test-buy scan: shipped to Distributor A on 12 May.
  6. 6. ResultEnforce the contract, stop shipments, act with proof.
What leaks cost you

What counterfeits and diversion cost you.

Companies can lose up to 30% of their revenue to counterfeits. Every fake you stop is a sale that can come back to you. Move the sliders to see what is at stake for your brand.

What counterfeits cost you

Illustrative only. Your numbers depend on category, markets and channels.

Sales you can add each year

$11.1MCounterfeits sold in your name each year
$33.3MCounterfeits sold over three years
$16.7MSales added over three years

Counterfeit sales = annual revenue × share ÷ (1 - share), valued at your price. At 10%, 1 in 10 units sold under your name is fake. Sales you can add = counterfeit sales × the share you recover.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

How do brands trace diverted products today?

Mostly by guesswork. Brands buy the product from a marketplace and read the batch code, but one batch often ships to many distributors, so the source cannot be proven. With unit-level identity, a single test-buy scan names the distributor and the ship date.

Do we have to enroll our whole production to start?

No. For a diversion investigation you can enroll a few hundred units going to a suspected distributor, then test-buy and scan. Full-line enrollment comes later, once the value is proven.

What do our distributors and retailers need?

A smartphone and our app. There is no reader to buy and no change to how they receive or store stock.

We already print QR codes for a regulatory mandate. Does Idanta replace them?

No. Idanta works with the barcode or QR code you already print, so you keep your compliance workflow and close the cloning gap.

Who owns the scan data?

You do. Scan data (unit, time, place, device) belongs to the brand and is used only to run your program.

What does it cost to start?

We start with a live demo on your own product. If it fits, you sign a commercial agreement with a 60-day free-look period. If it does not work for you within those 60 days, the agreement is void. Pricing depends on volume and scope.
